Old CaveMaker, Water Crates, and Water Tap Crates On the Cavemaker download page, Neopets says that they've updated Cavemaker on December 5 of who knows what year. This means that there used to be an older one out there. Well, we've got it! Ironically, this version is more efficient than the newer one. It may still contain a few glitches, but we've worked around them! Some of its advantages are water crates and water tap crates. To download this version of Cavemaker, click on the link below. But, certain browsers will have security features that stop you from downloading things from random links. If this happens to you and if you feel safe enough, just temporarily disable these security features to allow the downloading to work. When you click on the link, make sure you click save and then save the file wherever you want on your computer. http://interguild.domingo.org/cavemaker_v1.exe This version of cavemaker comes with some cool features that Neopets unfortunately took off, due to their complexities. However, the following guide should help you understand how they work and how to use them.
-Tricks- One strange thing about this crate is how it's so fragile. Normally when Hannah hits a normal wooden crate, she bounces back a little. However, with this, Hannah goes right through it as if it wasn't there. If she falls onto the crate from a jump, she will not bounce off. A good idea to use this ability is would be, for example, to trap the player when they least expect this to happen. If you want to use this crate, but you don't want the water to come out, then do not include a water tap in your cave. -Coding- When you include this into your cave using Cavemaker, the coding won't work. In fact, it will not even appear in your text. In order to correctly include it, you must manually put in the code yourself. After you copy your cave code, paste it somewhere, such as the uploader page. Then you'll have to type the @ sign wherever you put a water crate in the your cave, which means that you must keep track of every place where you included this crate. It is advised that you put something that is rarely used, such as a tutorial arrow, and sticks out from the rest of your coding so that it will be easier to locate each crate. If you have it pasted in notepad, you use Ctrl+H and replace every certain character (such as "n", for the up tutorial arrow) with the @ symbol to make uploading quicker.
-Tricks- The best trick for this crate is its ability to keep water taps from starting. This is VERY helpful when using water crates. Remember, in order for a water crate to work, you must have a water tap. But, if you have a water tap crate, you can stop the the tap from continuously flowing. This means that you'll be able to have a steady water level that will NOT rise unless you brake a water crate. The combination of water crates and water tap crates can give the player a lot of power over how water acts in your cave. One good idea is to hide your water tap crate in an impossible spot, so that it is ensured that it will never be broken. Water tap crates also have the same physical properties as water crates. In other words, you will not bounce off when you hit the crate. -Coding- Just like water crates, the coding will need to be edited. For this, make sure you add an ! mark in every spot you put a water tap crate. UNUSED TILES- For some reason, this version of Cavemaker comes with extra non-used icons. One is the "water flow" tile. This is useless and it's origin is unknown. Perhaps it was supposed to serve as a "water level" tile, but Neopets removed it. Another glitch involves the tutorial arrows and their selection tiles. When putting them into your cave, don't be fooled by their images. Apparently, Neopets accidentally paired up the wrong images to each arrow. Instead, you must make sure you read which specific directional arrow you want to get the correct one.
